Why dental crowns?
Your natural teeth are the best set you will get, and even though advances in modern dentistry has come on in leaps and bounds, nothing will compare to natural healthy teeth.
Overtime it is natural for our teeth to experience general wear and tear. This is because our mouths are havens for bacteria. We can help protect our teeth for longer by practicing a healthy oral hygiene routine which will help combat the effects from the bacteria, and it is also recommended to visit your dentist on a regular basis for a check-up (every 6 months).
When wear and tear does occur e.g cavities (caries) etc, it is important to have them repaired using dental restorations. Cavities are particularly bad as they are in essence holes in your teeth that allows bacteria to enter the tooth (where the nerve is) and cause further complications, that may require for more invasive treatments e.g. root canals.
